Disney Plus continues to attract new subscribers, thanks in large part to an intensive effort to increase the range of available movies and TV series.
According to a new report from Digital TV Research quoted by The Hollywood Reporter Disney Plus will have 284.2 million subscribers by 2026, which means that it will pass market-leading Netflix, which is believed to have 270.7 million subscribers at the same time.
For other streaming services, growth is expected to be more modest, for example, Chinese Tencent is expected to reach a maximum of 98.7 million users, while HBO will reach 76.3 million. For Apple TV Plus, the forecast is 35.6 million, which is roughly the same number of users as at present.
It should of course be pointed out that a lot can happen in five years, for example there can be talk of both new players and mergers.
