“We wanted Messi to stay in LaLiga, but (Cristiano) Ronaldo and Neymar left and we didn’t feel any difference. We are ready,” said Javier Tebas quoted by the BBC.
One of the clubs favored to recruit Lionel Messi is Manchester City. Apart from being financially capable, there are factors from the former Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola who are believed to be able to make Messi firmly in joining.
Javier Tebas do not hesitate to attack Manchester City, as before. President of LaLiga Man City has always been vocal against Man City, accusing them of cheating on the Financial Fair Play because it is funded by the state, in this case the United Arab Emirates.
“It seems that the only club in the Premier League that talks about signing Messi is Manchester City, who are competing outside the rules. It’s not just me who said this,” continued Tebas.

“Cities are not affected by COVID or the pandemic or anything because they are funded differently and it is impossible to fight against that,” he added.
