Discovery of Early Human Fossils in China New Surprise Theory of Evolution

Tangerang Guidelines – A fossil skull dubbed “Dragon Man” has appeared in China surprisingly.

This discovery becomes a big problem for the existence of Homo Neanderthals which are known as the closest evolutionary relatives of Homo Sapiens (modern humans).

Dragon Man belongs to the species Stone Age previously unknown species that are expected to replace Homo Neanderthals as today’s closest human relative, the researchers said.

A nearly complete male skull now housed at the Hebei GEO University Geoscience Museum in Shijiazhuang, China, represents a species dubbed Homo longi by Hebei paleoanthropologist GEO Xijun Ni and his colleagues.

The scientists described the skull, dating to at least 146,000 years ago, and analyzed its position in the evolution of Homo in three papers published June 25 in The Innovation.

Qiang Ji, a paleontologist also at Hebei GEO, received the skull in 2018 from a farmer who said it had been excavated by his grandfather’s co-workers in 1933.

During the construction of a bridge over a river in Harbin, China, the worker allegedly scooped a skull out of river sediment. Whether the story is true or not, these fossils can help answer questions about the poorly understood period of human evolution.
