Every Sunday from July 10, 2022until August 21, Notre-Dame de Chartres (Eure-et-Loir) will organize an organ concert within it. A festival to discover throughout the summer.
Every Sunday
Once again, organists from around the world We’ll be packing our bags in Chartres for the 48th Beauce capital’s International Organ Festival: Great Britain, Poland, United States… There will also be French organists. Each will pay tribute to César Franck, a French composer born 200 years ago.
As tradition dictates, these musicians are invited to play every Sunday, at 4:30 p.m., free of charge. Admission is also free.
Un festival international
The first three Sundays of the festival will be acquired by the three foreign musicians. First with Adam Tanski, headliner of the event, Polish composer, regularly performed in his native country and in Germany. A week later, a 21-year-old man will take charge: Will Fielding comes from Blackburn in England and currently performs in the choir of the Saint-Sernin basilica in Toulouse.
On July 24, the United States will be honored with Lynne Davis, from Michigan, a regular at the Chartres festival. She is notably at the origin of the disc “Music for Cathedrals”.
During ChartrEstivales…
The last four weeks will be Franco-French. Patrick Delabre, the titular organist of Chartres Cathedral, will play him on August 14, a week before Baptiste-Florian Marle-Ouvrard, of the Saint-Eustache church in Paris, comes to close hostilities.
The organ will also invest the evenings ChartrEstivales. From July 7 to August 25, the same cathedral will host a free organ concert, every Thursday at 9 p.m.
