discover a first photo of the motherboard

A photo of the iPhone 12 motherboard appeared on social media. The leak shows an L-shaped circuit board more elongated than the component integrated into the iPhone 11 last year. Not surprisingly, the storage unit comes from Samsung factories. We take stock of this leak.

iPhone 12 motherboard

A Chinese informant by the name of L0vetodream posted on his Twitter account a stolen photo showing a hypothetical motherboard of one or iPhone 12. In a tweet, he claims to have recovered the photo on Sina Weibo, the Chinese social network, and that he completely ignores its exact origin. For now, we obviously advise you to take this escape with tweezers.

An elongated L-shaped motherboard for the iPhone 12

Anyway, the photo shared by L0vetodream shows a less bulky and longer L-shaped motherboard. The component takes up much less space than the motherboard integrated in the iPhone 11, iPhone XS and to iPhone X. The motherboard that powers its 3 generations of iPhone is indeed wider. However, the printed circuit is similar to that found within iPhone 8 or some iPhone SE 2020.

A visible inscription on the motherboard shows that the built-in storage unit was designed by Samsung, usual supplier of Cupertino, during the 40th week of 2019, in early October. It is therefore a component intended for a prototype iPhone 12.

The latest news is that Apple is betting on 128 GB of basic internal storage, compared to only 64 GB for the iPhone 11. To accompany the SoC A14, the American brand would integrate 4 GB of RAM on all iPhone models. As a reminder, Apple will present the iPhone 12 in early September 2020. We will tell you more as soon as possible. Pending more information on future iPhone, do not hesitate to give your opinion in the comments below.
