A federal judge in New York allowed a lawsuit to be filed against banks in the Russian Federation in the case of the MH17 plane crash. The claim will be directed to Sberbank and VTB.

The family of the deceased 18-year-old Queen Shansman tried to file a lawsuit against Sberbank, VTB Bank, Western Union and MoneyGram firms back in the spring of 2019. They accused them of transferring funds to the “DPR”, which is responsible for the plane crash and the death of 298 people on board.
The plaintiffs are convinced that Sberbank regularly used US banks to channel funds to the DPR militants. In particular, their lawyer showed copies of the terrorists’ instructions in which they suggested using the correspondent accounts of two Russian banks in America to receive donations.
