Director of the Mexican Stock Exchange – El Financiero

The price of Facebook’s share fell 5 percent this Monday, which meant a loss of 50 billion dollars, said the general director of the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV), José Oriol Bosch Par.

He explained that the company operates as a holding company (manages a group of firms) and has a value in the world of one million million dollars, and when its titles fall 5 percent, “we are talking about the loss that had the value of the company, what we say, the capitalization value, which is the number of shares multiplied by the market price, meant for Facebook, 50 billion dollars of disability ”.

When giving the keynote address “I want to invest in the Stock Market, where do I start?”, Within the national Financial Education week, he explained how to invest in the Mexican Stock Exchange, what are its risks, opportunities and the importance of technology.

Oriol Bosch recognized that all the Stock Exchanges in the world have risks, but they also represent opportunities, because it is useless to save and keep money at home because it does not generate returns there.

Investing in the Stock Market, he said, in addition to being safe, represents the possibility of having returns.

When speaking to young students, he recognized that before the investments in the Stock Market were millionaires, but now the amounts have decreased.

He recommended that if someone wants to invest in the BMV, after knowing their profile and desired investment amount, they should approach a brokerage house to be advised and thus participate in the stock exchange center.

He accepted that there are risks in the stock market and there have also been financial crises, such as those of 2008 and 2009, or even recently in December 2020 with the pandemic, which from 45 thousand points fell 24.3 percent and little by little until 9 Last September it reached 50 thousand units, that is, it recovered by 54.9 percent.

He acknowledged that for a long time the BMV had been “elitist and not very inclusive” but affirmed that now he wants to change and therefore reiterated his invitation to invest and participate in the stock market.
