This Thursday was a busy day in the Dimayor. Throughout the day, meetings and discussions were held around the future of the President. Jorge Enrique Vélez. However, at night, in a meeting of 16 teams, another decision began to cook: to make a new league a reality, with another structure.
The teams wait for Vélez to agree to resign, as they have been asked in the last two days, first with 16 letters against him, and this Thursday with direct requests from Millionaires, America, Nacional, Once Caldas, Medellín and Alianza. But at the same time, they land an old idea that the ‘biggest’ clubs in the country have had, with a new structure in which there is a different distribution of the resources that come from TV rights.

This has been a battle that teams such as Millonarios and Nacional have long given, who do not consider that there are equal distributions with smaller teams in the Colombian soccer.

These 16 clubs would invite 4 others: Junior, Cali, Bucaramanga and Barranquilla. In this model, the clubs that have opposed the Dimayor administration would be left out, among them, Santa Fe, the most representative of those opponents. On Thursday night the meeting continues.
