Israeli and French singer Rika Zaray dies reports Embassy of Israel in France on Twitter.

“We are deeply saddened by the departure of Ricky Zaray, who has won the hearts of the French with her beautiful accent,” the message says.

Zaray was 82 years old. The singer was born on February 19, 1938 in Jerusalem. Her parents were from Russia and Poland. In 1960 she moved to France.

Zarai gained fame in the West for her performance of the adaptation of the Soviet song “Katyusha” – Casatschok, as well as the songs “Sans chemise sans pantalon” and “Alors je chante”.

She also worked in botany and pharmaceuticals. In 2008, the singer suffered a stroke.
