Jan Stickler lies dead in the hot tub of a spa hotel. Who has him on his conscience? The conductor of the Salzburg Alto Orchestra made few friends during his lifetime. For forensic pathologists, the matter quickly becomes clear: an unknown person killed Stickler with two blows to the head. Palfinger and Russmeyer take over the investigation.
Several people come into focus at the same time: For example, the percussionist of the orchestra. He has attracted attention in the past for violent crimes, is about to be fired and is suddenly piling up. Everything fits together, he makes himself suspicious. But the Bulgarian flutist also had a motive: Stickler sexually coerced and put pressure on her.
The investigators also find the behavior of the widow Stickers strange: Ursula shows little willingness to help solve the case. When it turns out that her alibi for the night of the murder was wrong, Mur becomes suspicious. He finds out that Ursula was secretly in love with a photographer. He was even demonstrably in the hotel on the night of the crime.
Can the investigators solve the murder quickly? In the end, it’s not that easy after all, things are falling apart.
