Did you know, Immunization in RI has been successful in preventing various infectious diseases

Jakarta

The Corona cases in Indonesia have not yet subsided, Mother. It’s just that, it’s starting to show improvement.

Quoted from page covid19.go.id, this improvement can be seen from the recovery ratio figure or recovery rate positive cases of COVID-19 which began to increase from last week at 83.92 percent to more than 84 percent this week. In addition, the government is currently working to reduce the transmission of COVID-19 by realizing a vaccine program for the people.

“For this, the government is preparing vaccines and immunization procedures later. The Ministry of Health has also trained more than 8,600 vaccinators from 23,000 vaccinators who are planned to be prepared to support the immunization campaign later,” said Dr. Reisa Broto Asmoro.

As is well known, the immunization program in Indonesia has succeeded in preventing various infectious diseases, Mother.

“In the past, before vaccines were invented, deaths from infectious diseases such as measles, diphtheria and pneumonia were a lot. With the birth of these vaccines, these dangerous infectious diseases have disappeared,” said immunization expert, dr. Jane Jane Soepardi, MPH.

So, in designing an immunization campaign there are several factors that must be considered. First, of course, there must be a vaccine first. Then, the storage tool is so that the vaccine does not spoil quickly. Then determine the location of the immunization.

“Vaccines are not just any brand. So the principle of our country is that the vaccines used will be registered with WHO. Then what is also important is the person who will be immunized. Then the addition is volunteers who help traffic at the location later,” said Jane.

Jane added, if there is a Corona vaccine in the future, it would be better if the public has more confidence about the safety and effectiveness of the vaccine.

“The public must know that vaccines are much different from drugs. Because vaccines will be given to healthy people, therefore the vaccine requirements are made very strict. So it is better not to catch COVID-19, and if we are lucky to get the immunization, don’t refuse, just be grateful if got the COVID-19 vaccine, “he said.

Furthermore, even though it has been vaccinated later, it is hoped that the community will still apply health protocols.

“Even though the vaccine is coming, we must remain disciplined in applying 3M (wearing masks, washing hands, and maintaining a safe distance). Finally, don’t be afraid to be immunized,” said Reisa.
