Free Stone for “Dibu“: World Champion Martínez Restores in Mar del Plata
MAR DEL PLATA, argentina – Fresh off a demanding season in the Premier League, Argentina‘s World Cup-winning goalkeeper, Emiliano “Dibu” Martínez, is enjoying a period of rest and recuperation in his hometown of Mar del Plata. The Aston Villa shot-stopper arrived back in the coastal city as his club benefits from a break in the English league schedule.
Martínez will not join La Albiceleste for their upcoming friendly against Angola on November 13th at 1:00 p.m. (Argentina time), to be played at the 11 de Novembro Stadium in luanda. The decision to grant him rest was made by national team manager Lionel Scaloni following recent victories in friendlies against Venezuela and Puerto Rico during the October FIFA date. Aston Villa resumes league play on November 23rd with an away match against Leeds United, kicking off at 11:00 a.m.
