Formalized during last year’s BlizzCon, the fourth part of Diablo is still in the development phase. For the second time, the Blizzard team takes stock of its latest advances and gives us some details about the narration, the open world and the title’s multiplayer.
Throughout a report published on the official site from Blizzard, director Luis Barriga says that one of the last stages of development was to integrate complete content in a region called “the arid steppes“: campaign, details of the open world, objects, dungeons, kinematics and PvP sub-area. The objective then being to carry out tests for several days on this segment in order to analyze the data. The team explains that they generally focus on certain features or specific areas of the game during development.
With regard to the narration, several elements would have evolved, in particular for the conversations. Unlike the previous section, which displayed the name and portrait of a character, he tries out various movements of manual or automatic cameras. For example, during a discussion with an NPC, the camera will be able to focus on the character and animations will be triggered for the dialogues.
Blizzard also mentions the exploitation of kinematics in real time. Some key scenes will be framed like a film. This real-time system allows you to display your hero with his current armor.
