Diablo 4 Fans Race to Reach Level 100 in Hardcore Mode, but Bugs Bring Some Down: Will They Make the Cut for a Lilith Statue?

Fans who play Diablo 4 have set themselves the goal of winning the “infernal race” for level 100. But not all attempts end happily, as one disgruntled player was convinced.

The fundamental principle of the game is to play through a hardcore mode in which character death is permanent, so after each defeat you have to start from scratch. The prize for reaching level 100 will only be awarded to the first thousand players, so speed is of the utmost importance.

Max Smith spent 18 hours in the game and reached level 52 as a sorceress. Everything went smoothly until the character froze and stopped responding to commands. Smith used the classic “Alt + F4” move, hoping to get back into the game in time to save the day. Reality turned out to be less colorful, and he wrote on Twitter.

“To be defeated by a bug after 18 hours of play is painful. I’m sure I could make the top 1000 if I tried again, but I don’t want to waste time after that.”

A little later, Smith changed his mind:

“I made another hardcore character. I guess I’m a masochist or something.”

As a reminder, the first 1000 players who reach the maximum character level 100 in hardcore mode will be immortalized on a real statue of Lilith.
