DHF Cases in Malang Reaches 38 People, 1 Dies

POOR, KOMPAS.com – Cases of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DBD) in the city Poor, East Java, at the beginning of this year reached 38 cases.

One of them was declared dead.

The Head of the Malang City Health Office, Dr. Husnul Muarif, said that the cause of the case was because of the large pool of water, so his party suggested minimizing it.

In addition, changing weather conditions also affect and lead to the development of the Aedes aegypti mosquito.

“The real cause is puddles of water, for the weather it affects. But if the puddles can be minimized, God willing, there are no eggs, no larvae, so that there are no adult mosquitoes,” said Husnul when interviewed by the media crew on Monday (24/1/2022) .

According to him, to prevent dengue cases, the community must play an active role by eradicating mosquito nests.

In addition, his party is currently reinvigorating the prevention and handling program for dengue fever in every area in Malang City.

The program is through Jumantik (Flat Monitor) and also the mosquito nest eradication program (PSN).

“Secondly, PSN plus Abate may have mosquito repellent,” he said.

For the implementation of fogging, said Husnul, it is still not optimal because it will kill adult mosquitoes.

As for the eradication of dengue, according to him, it must start from the root.

“Monitoring dengue larvae from one house, then 10 houses to the right, left, behind it must be counted for the inspection of the larvae, cleaning first, then eradicating the mosquito nests,” he said.
