DH of Puebla files complaint for lack of medicines for children with cancer

The Human Rights Commission of the State of Puebla (CDH Puebla) initiated an ex officio complaint for the lack of cancer medications in the Poblano Children’s Hospital.

The autonomous body informed that the investigation was initiated by the public complaint made by the association Help us Help Children with Cancer, which points out the lack of medication for the treatment of different types of cancer.

For this reason, it will request reports from public servants, and where appropriate, will carry out the necessary steps to ensure that the health institution guarantees the service and supplies of medicines to girls, boys and teenagers with cancer.

Last Thursday, parents of children with cancer, who receive care in the Hospital for the Poblano Child (HNP), manifested to denounce the lack of supplies for chemotherapies.

As in other parts of the country, family members demanded the president Andrés Manuel López Obrador and to governor Luis Miguel Barbosa resolve the shortage That puts your children’s lives at risk.

With banners in hand, they reported that hospital staff notified them that they lacked the necessary supplies for chemotherapies.

The deputy director of hospitals of the Ministry of Health, Oswaldo Acosta Vargas, admitted to local media the shortage of 10 products to care for the sick.

In this regard, the Human Rights Commission of Puebla said that it is essential to carry out actions in favor of poblano children.

He called on all health sectors to assume their commitment to provide the service that guarantees the human right to health of this vulnerable population group.
