Santa Barbara is a sunny city on the Central California coast, with the imposing Santa Ynes Mountains looming on the horizon. But again and again clouds gather over California, especially when the local metal band DevilDriver blows to the next prank. The modern groove metal band around singers Dez Fafara has a new release planned for this summer that will revisit this very beloved title. Clouds Over California: The Studio Albums 2003 – 2011 will be on the shelves of your music dealer in several versions as a box set from the end of July. For both vinyl and CD lovers, it will be used by BMG / Warner Music give a box that will make your rigs groan under the constant pressure of the artists. The rather simple design belies the content. Inside the box, five albums by the Americans are waiting for us, which take us back to their beginnings. In the middle The Last Kind Wordson the Clouds Over California the last speck of dust drifts skyward. Conclusion
Summarized again and also made available as a CD box set, but what good is Clouds Over California: The Studio Albums 2003 – 2011? At 150 euros, it’s not really cheaper than the individual records. As a bonus, you get the 20-page book by Dez Fafara, which shouldn’t be insignificant for fans. Personally, I always like the look of the box sets very much, they bundle a large spectrum that you can quickly find in the collection. If you grabbed the black gold in 2018, you don’t even get other colors this year, but really one-to-one the same records with a small book and the outer box. To get to the point: if you’ve already bought all the splatter vinyl, there’s no point in buying them again if you’re not a die-hard fan and can’t leave anything behind. However, if you didn’t grab it then, you now have a new reason to compensate for your hesitation at the time. You definitely can’t go wrong with the quality. In this case, there are only reductions in the rating for the comparison of 2018, because in my opinion a new purchase makes no sense and only new customers are served.
