Deutsche Bahn is building an ICE route from Berlin-Halle-Erfurt-Frankfurt

In the next few months, travelers will have to be patient: Deutsche Bahn is building the ICE route Berlin-Halle-Erfurt-Frankfurt. There will be some schedule changes.

The nerves of train travelers could be extremely stressed over the next few weeks. Because from the coming weekend there will be changes to the timetable. The ICE 1637 from Frankfurt is affected. There will be no stop in Halle (Saale), passengers can expect delays of up to 30 minutes.

On October 22nd, grinding work will also be carried out on the ICE line from Erfurt to Berlin-Gesundbrunnen between Wandersleben and Mechterstädt-Sättelstedt. This will cause delays in rail operations. The ICE 1635 from Frankfurt am Main is affected. Travelers must expect a delay of around eight to twelve minutes.

Early and late departures planned

At the beginning of November, construction will begin on the route: the control and safety technology between Eisenach and Erfurt will be renewed. The construction phase will only last until the following day, but the ICE trains from Erfurt start up to 60 minutes later than planned in the direction of Berlin-Gesundbrunnen. The departure in the opposite direction – to Frankfurt – is however one hour early.

The major construction work of Deutsche Bahn on the ICE route Berlin-Halle-Erfurt-Frankfurt will start on November 25th. That announced the Deutsche Bahn on Wednesday. These will continue until December 2nd. Affected ICE trains will not stop in Halle (Saale) during this period, and the Berlin-Gesundbrunnen station will also not be approached. The train also indicated that the affected trains would depart up to 25 minutes earlier.
