Detroit Become Human exceeds 5 million copies sold

Released in April 2018, Detroit Become Human was entitled to more than rave reviews, both from the players and the press. The latest studio Quantic Dream (Heavy Rain, Beyond Two Souls), has just taken stock of its sales and we learn that the bar of 5 million copies sold has been reached.

On the way to the future?

These 5 million correspond to total sales on all platforms. This milestone was crossed a month after its launch on Steam and more than eight months after its arrival on the Epic Games Store. Remember that in October 2019, the studio had declared to have sold 3 million copies on PlayStation 4. The PC port was therefore a commercial success.

At the same time, Quantic Dream announced that it has launched a Twitch extension, called “Detroit Community Play”, which allows streamers to play with their viewers and make decisions together. A good idea for a narrative title that puts decisions at the center of its gameplay.

For now, we do not yet know if Quantic Dream is on a new project in the tradition of its predecessors. However, now that the studio is no longer under Sony’s tutelage, we can eventually expect a creative liberty take or a multiplatform release.
