Destiny 2: Bungie confirms release of expansion this fall – News

The crisis around the Coronavirus and the obligation for development teams to work at home does not seem to shake up Bungie’s plans, which plans a new extension for Destiny 2.

No Destiny 3 for fall 2020, but fine a third expansion for Destiny 2. In a message to its community, the studio confirms the release for the fall of this new content, the foundations of which have been the subject of a major leak in recent weeks.

The Destiny experience should grow every year after an expansion, have a significantly evolving world, and lots of reasons to play. And then, every year, we have to take a step forward towards a new extension. – Evan Nikolich, creative director of Destiny 2

This revelation, which confirms that the studio prefers to wait another year for Destiny 3, in order to probably release it exclusively on next generation consoles, has nonetheless reasoned differently since the probable leak of information concerning the scenario developed in the coming months. Thus, according to various rumors from Reddit and 4Chan, season 11 would sign the arrival of Darkness closer to Earth, thereby causing random and visible events. The extension, for its part, could lead players to a Last City in the grip of flames, while our planet could be the scene of a real massacre.

Added to this is fan-themed cutscene, whose exit is not yet known, but where we note the advance of Darkness (which takes the form of pyramidal vessels, according to the scenario of Bastion of Shadows), which are close to Jupiter. Discover the kinematics below:

Bungie also announced several changes in seasonal events from season 12 (September> November). The activities that will be offered there will no longer disappear during the 12 months after their availability.
