Desmond Myers plays his intoxicating pop ballad “Chinatown” in multicam from Atlanta to Paris in exclusive teleconcert

Teleconcerts

Since March 16, culture has stopped. Artists no longer have the capacity to perform on stage. The festivals are canceled. Promotions from artists, especially international ones, are totally compromised. The concert halls had to cancel their programming. The sector is in danger.

After more than 70 teleconcerts published during confinement, “l’Obs” continues this musical series with a new formula focused on big names and the favorites of the editorial staff, every Saturday and every Sunday. Until further notice.

Desmond Myers has just spent the past five years in France. Coming to Europe from North Carolina at the age of 18, the American artist had finally settled in Paris. It was in 2017, when he replaced for a few concerts the late Simon Carpentier, voice and guitar in the group Her, after his death from cancer at the age of 27, that the great public discovers it. On “The 1”, Otis Junior and Dr Dundiff present their new jazzy hip-hop in an exclusive teleconcert

His musical and hexagonal peregrinations allowed him to compose and produce his album « Chinatown » released on August 28th. On this title track, pure condensed of soul and r’n’b, the musician declares his love for the Chinese quarter of Paris. What could be better than a multicam session managed from Atlanta by Desmond Myers with his musicians Mathieu Gramoli, also drummer for Her, Louis-Marin Renaud on guitar (Theo Lawrence, Her) and Pierre Elgrishi on bass (Nash), for the (re) discover?

> Turn up the volume and take care of yourself.
