Derek Sherinian Releases ‘Dragonfly’, Second Advance From His Album ‘The Phoenix’

The American keyboard player Derek Sherinian He is going to publish a new solo album, ‘The Phoenix’ in September and is already previewing the second song of it: ‘Dragonfly’. You can see the video of this song on these lines.

It is an authentic jazz-rock song of almost 4 minutes in length where we only hear a Sherinian piano accompanied by the great drums of Simon Phillips and the bass of Ernest Tibbs. The simple but very well billed video was directed by Vicente Cordero (Sons of Apollo, Ritchie Kotzen, Haken).

Sherinian says: “I really feel like it’s my best solo album to date. He also adds that “Steve Vai has always been on my hit list. But it was when I played keyboards on the Generation Ax Asia tour in 2017 that I asked him to play on my record, which he gladly agreed” and that “Kiko [Loureiro] and I’ve known each other for about 20 years, but this is the first time I’ve had the opportunity to play with him. ”

‘The Phoenix’ will feature a total of 8 tracks, including a cover of ‘Them Changes’ by Buddy Miles. The album will be released in various formats: limited edition Digipak CD, 180 gram vinyl LP + CD and digital and streaming formats.
