Then, the leaders and cadres of the Pelita Party also attended the National Working Meeting this time. In addition, a number of representatives of new parties such as the People’s Party for Justice and Prosperity (PRIMA) and the National Awakening Party (PKN) were also present.

For information, the Pelita Party was officially declared Monday (28/2), after receiving a decree (SK) from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights some time ago.

The chairman of the Pelita Party Consultative Council, Din Syamsuddin, claimed that many retired generals would join the Pelita Party. However, Din did not reveal further about the retired general who was said to be joining the Pelita Party.

“I can’t say his name, it’s unethical for me. But I got a message that people are not only retired from the TNI or Polri, but also various other groups,” he said.

In addition, said Din, several figures from community organizations (ormas) and kiai from a number of Islamic boarding schools in various regions are also said to be willing to join the Pelita Party.

Din said that the large number of figures who wanted to join showed that the presence of the Pelita Party received a positive response from the public.
