The 2020 season is history for Deportivo Cali, which is clear that it is useless to play well if the goals are not scored. The hard blows of the League, BetPlay Cup and South American Cup last year were left behind and the additions for this new campaign promise a team with greater precision in attack to be the protagonist in their competitions this year.
The green-and-white team will receive this Sunday (8:10 pm) Jaguares at the Palmaseca stadium for the first date of the 2021 BetPlay League, with the firm conviction of playing well and obtaining the first three points that will put it back in orbit as one of the candidate teams to seek the title.
There are six new faces that the Executive Committee of the institution incorporated, plus eight youth players that coach Alfredo Arias was promoted, which represents a good range of possibilities to face the Cordovan team. So far the debut of the Uruguayan goalkeeper Guillermo De Amores and Marco Pérez has been confirmed, while Carlos Robles awaits the confirmation of the Uruguayan strategist.
The presence of Pérez next to an old man known as Ángelo Rodríguez, his attack formula in the Tolima champion of the League I-2018, enthuses the coaching staff, coaching staff and of course the ‘sugar’ partiality of which there will be greater potential on the attack front, understanding that Jhon Vásquez will have greater freedom to play as a winger, but also with the possibility of setting up the plays with Agustín Palavecino.
Palavecino intends to once again be the man of ideas, but also an important factor in the goal quota, since in the last championship he was the most effective on the squad. In this version, the imbalance of Deiber Caicedo will not be counted, although it is betting on players of greater specific weight in the offense.
Urged on a good result to avoid the ghost of relegation, José Alberto Suárez, coach of the ‘felines’, will try a good approach in his first outing of the championship, surely with precautions in the background and with his sights set on taking advantage of the spaces that I left him behind green and white.

Deportivo Cali won the last two games against Jaguares at home in the League by the same score: 4-0 but also lost two of their last four games at home.
Jaguares have not won 12 games in League A, with nine draws and three defeats; their last victory was 2-0 against La Equidad, in September.
Jaguares already debuted in two editions of the League against Cali in which they remained undefeated: a 0-0 draw in the first tournament of 2015 and a 3-0 victory in the second of that year (on the court they ended with a 1-0 victory for the team monteriano).
