That is why, he said, these must be addressed in each country in order to curb the reasons that lead its citizens to risk traveling, which is why he plans to restructure the $ 700 million economic support program that Trump did not implement.
On Wednesday, the US Vice President, Kamala Harris, announced that she will travel to Mexico and Guatemala to discuss the issue of the migratory crisis, so that those governments face “the root causes” that generate the phenomenon.
In recent months, an increase in the flow of migrants has been reported, as well as a greater number of minors traveling alone. In fact, the number of events of Jalisco citizens under the age of 18 repatriated in February was 44, more than double that reported a month earlier (19).
President Andrés Manuel López Obrador declared that Harris would be welcome and that he would seek to discuss with her the issue of children traveling alone.
