Videos cited by media outlets show swarms of Moscow attack helicopters converging in the western Belgorod region just 19 miles from Ukraine.
Similar combat assets were seen at the same location in 2014 when Moscow intervened in the Donbas and annexed Crimea.
Moscow has always rejected the narrative of annexing Crimea and insists the region chose to leave Ukraine and join the Russian Federation through a referendum.

One of the videos shows Ka-52 Alligator, Mi-8 and Mi-24 military attack helicopters moving in several locations in western Russia.
They were seen in Belgorod, Nizhny Novgorod, Tver, Ulyanovsk and Yaroslavl regions amid suspicions they were being moved to a Ukrainian war zone.
Meanwhile, Russian Ambassador to Sweden Viktor Tatarintsev said President Putin did not care about the threat of sanctions by the US and its allies.
“The more the West pushes against Russia, the stronger Russia’s response will be,” he was quoted as saying The SunMonday (14/2/2022).
The Kremlin diplomat said Russia had become more independent in responding to the threat of sanctions.
