CHICAGO, IL – june 28, 2025 – DePaul university is rolling out the Zoom AI Companion to faculty and staff starting July 1st, offering a suite of AI-powered features designed to enhance meetings and collaboration. This move positions DePaul at the forefront of integrating artificial intelligence into its communication infrastructure, boosting productivity and engagement.
What is the Zoom AI Companion?
The AI Companion is a set of features within Zoom meetings that leverages artificial intelligence to assist users.These features are optional and must be enabled by the meeting host. Participants will receive a clear notification when the AI Companion is active during a meeting. Users who prefer not to utilize the AI features can simply choose not to enable them.
Key Features & How to Enable:
DePaul employees can enable the AI Companion through the following steps:

- Navigate to Settings in the left-hand menu.
- Select the AI Companion tab.
- Enable desired options within the Meetings, Recording, Clips, and Whiteboard sections.
- Activate the AI companion button within Zoom meetings to begin utilizing its capabilities.
