Milwaukee Dentist Killed in Dispute Over Loud music

A cherished Milwaukee dentist,known for his charitable work and community involvement,tragically lost his life following a confrontation with a neighbor over loud music.
The Incident
Keionna McGowan, 27, faces charges of second-degree reckless homicide with a risky weapon in connection with the death of Dr. Akintunde Bowden. The incident unfolded after Dr. Bowden approached McGowan about the loud music emanating from her apartment. During her trial, McGowan reportedly sobbed in court, according to WISN 12.
According to the criminal complaint, McGowan stated she was styling her hair and trying on clothes when she heard "aggressive banging" at her door, amidst the sound of her music.
The Shooting
The shooting occurred at the Park Plaza Court apartment complex, located in a northern Milwaukee suburb. Officers found Dr. Bowden deceased at the scene.An autopsy confirmed that Dr. Bowden died from a single gunshot wound to the lower abdomen, wich traveled through multiple organs and vertebrae.
Community Mourns
Milwaukee Health services, where Dr. Bowden worked, released a statement expressing their profound grief:
Dr. Bowden’s contributions to the health and well-being of our patients and community were extremely impactful. His Leadership, Compassion, and vibrant personality will forever remain in our hearts.
Dr. Bowden's brothers, Adeniji and Ogbonna, who are also dentists, described their brother as someone who loved his patients
and dedicated himself to providing dental services to those in need for over a decade.
Remembering Dr. Bowden's Legacy
Ogbonna told CBS 58:
He always reached for people that didn’t have as much or didn’t have what we consider a fair chance.
Adeniji added, You know, I never thoght that the last time I saw my brother would be the last time I saw my brother.
Legal Proceedings
According to court records, McGowan’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 5.
