Denmark will provide € 22 million in aid to Ukraine in the wake of the conflict with Russia

The assistance is aimed at strengthening Ukraine’s resistance and its capacity to deal with the consequences of the protracted armed conflict in the east of the country.

The decision to help was made after the visit of the Danish Foreign Minister Jepes Kofod to the conflict zone in the east of Ukraine, where government soldiers are fighting against Russian-backed militants.

Kofod said he had seen with his own eyes how hard the conflict had affected the people of Ukraine.

The people of Ukraine need to know that they are not alone in their struggle for sovereignty and independence, he stressed.

Russia has recently concentrated its forces close to Ukraine’s borders, raising concerns in Ukraine and elsewhere in the world about a possible invasion of a neighboring country.
