Unfortunately a death is to be deplored among these three patients“Says the agency in a statement. Since July 2019, the number of cases suggestive of dengue is 2,100 in Martinique. According to Jacques Rosine, of public health France Antilles, “Even if today, we note a certain stabilization – we are between 150 and 200 cases which are estimated each week -, we have a circulation which remains active in certain communes of the south of the island. Martinique is still in epidemic risk“.

In addition, a committee of parliamentary inquiry chaired by the ex-minister of Overseas Ericka Bareigts, PS deputy of Reunion, should start its hearings tomorrow. In Reunion, 20 deaths have been recorded, including 12 directly related to dengue.
