Dengue fever: the virus still circulates in 13 municipalities

The number of dengue cases is decreasing on the island. 20 cases were confirmed from August 3 to 9, but 13 municipalities still remain concerned. The West and the South are the most affected regions.

While 6 municipalities have not reported any cases of dengue during the last 4 weeks, namely Salazie, Cilaos, Saint-Philippe, La Plaine-des-Palmistes, Bras-Panon and Entre-Deux, 13 municipalities are still concerned.

Municipalities in the West and the South, in which 20 new cases were confirmed from August 3 to 9. The circulation of the dengue virus is still decreasing on the island. So far this year, 15,800 cases have been reported, as well as 19 deaths, 9 of which are directly linked to dengue.

South region:

Saint-Pierre: Concession, Les Lataniers, Sainte-Céline, Bois d’Olives, La Ligne Paradis, Holy Land
Saint-Louis: the Chapel, Les Cocos, La Rivière, Roche Maigre
Les Avirons: Fond Maurice

West region:

Saint-Paul: Villèle, Grand Fond, Tamatave, Bellemène
Three Basins: Loquat Wood
La Possession: Rivière des Galets
The Port: Rivière des Galets, Mondon

North region:

Saint-Denis: Vauban, Sainte-Clotilde, Brittany

East region:

Bras-Panon: the avocado trees
Sainte-Rose: The Slippery Ravine
Saint-Benoit: Bourbier-Beaulieu
Saint-André: The Rivière du Mât les Hauts
