NEW YORK – A 40-year-old man was injured after protesters violently beat him while walking his dog in Manhattan on Saturday.
According to the authorities, the man would have been walking his dog through the streets of Central Park West and West 67th Street when alleged protesters approached him and after a brief conversation, one of them hit him on the head and the others began to kick him in the ground before attempting to steal his cell phone in the process.
For its part, one that was taking place in the same neighborhood at the time the events occurred. The rally was one organized by Plus1Vote, a non-profit organization dedicated to encouraging voting among New Yorkers.
“We are sorry to hear that there was an incident that took place near the event near Columbus Circle.” the organization said in a statement. “The incident is not related to the organizers or the participants of the march to the elections, nor is it aligned with the values and mission of the Plus1Vote initiative.”
The group of protesters then continued their protest and fled the scene. The victim and her dog suffered minor injuries during the altercation.
One of the protesters is described as a light-skinned man, approximately 40 years old, 6’0 “tall, 180 pounds, of medium build and brown hair, last seen wearing a red scarf, glasses, a red mask. and white.
