The police also tried to extinguish the fire using water and small fire extinguishers (APAR). Officials ask students not to damage the government-owned fence.

After burning the fence of the Immigration Office, students then held the corpse prayer in protest at the arrival of Chinese TKA.

The action coordinator, AwalRafiul, said that they wanted to protest the statement of the Head of the Immigration Office, which was considered inconsistent with the arrival of TKA China in Southeast Sulawesi.
This is reflected in the 49 Chinese TKAs who were previously brought in only pocketed visitor visas. Even though the foreign workers should have used a visa 312 or a work visa for expert specifications.
“It’s not like ordinary laborers that can be done by local laborers,” Awal said in his speech.
The use of this visit visa, Awal said, could also be used by 500 Chinese foreign workers brought in waves.
The masses urged Immigration to include all parties including students to check the legality of using Chinese TKA visas working at PT Virtue Dragon Nickel Industry (VDNI) and PT Obssidian Stainless Steel (OSS).
The Head of Immigration in Kendari, Hajar Aswad, said that the first 156 visa foreign workers from China who arrived in Southeast Sulawesi (Southeast Sulawesi) had not been examined.
That is because 156 foreign workers who arrived were still undergoing quarantine for 14 days to avoid the spread of covid-19. This is in accordance with Permenkum HAM No. 11 of 2020 regarding the treatment of foreigners who come in the middle of a corona pandemic.
Although not yet examined by the Kendari Immigration, the TKA underwent document checks at Manado’s Sam Ratulangi International Airport when they arrived from Malaysia who had previously departed from Guangzhou China.
The employer through PT Virtue Dragon Nickel Indistry (VDNI) External Affairs, Indrayanto mentioned all permits, status of expertise up to the type of work to be done at PT VDNI or at PT OSS has received approval from the Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration.

Meanwhile, the Head of the South Sulawesi Provincial Manpower and Transmigration Office, Saemu Alwi, said that the administration of 156 foreign workers had no problems after they immediately went down to check on June 24, 2020 yesterday.
“There is no problem. All of them are complete with visa 312,” Saemu Alwi said at his office.
Although it is complete, it will return to PT VDNI to check in more detail the administration of the TKA. He said as many as 300 Chinese foreign workers would be employed at PT OSS with 20 expertise. The number of local workers as a companion of 1,468 people.
While 200 foreign workers are employed at PT VDNI, which will be accompanied by 3,413 local workers.
“So this is issued by the ministry. So they (TKA China) work in certain areas,” he explained.
