Demi Lovato would have liked to have been more present in the life of her friend, Miley Cyrus, when the latter was at a low point.
The interpreter of ‘Slide Away’ agreed to confide in front of his friend, during the filming of the first episode of the latter’s program entitled ‘Bright Minded: Live With Miley’, broadcast on Instagram Live – in which she receives a different celebrity every day – and came back, with honesty, to her very controversial performance at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2013, alongside Robin Thicke, during which she wore a flesh-colored body while dancing explicitly.
Miley said, “ For two or three years, I didn’t wear shorts. I stopped wearing skirts on stage, all because after the VMAs, where I had worn my cute naked body, everyone started to compare me to a turkey and put a turkey in my costume .
“I was so skinny and so pale, and they put me next to this turkey, and I felt so bad that I hadn’t been wearing a bikini for two years, and no one was thinking what I could feel…”
Demi, 27, touched by the testimony of her friend, then revealed, with empathy, that she and Miley, 27, are going through periods where they are sometimes “close”, sometimes “distant”.
Demi said, ” First of all, I’m so sad that you went through this and I had no idea.
“ I would have liked to be there, but I was not aware of it, and I have the impression that we lived moments when we were closer and then more distant, and that’s very good, it ” is what friends do.
“I wish I was there for you. But if it happens again, call me.”
Then, Miley said that even if sometimes “life goes so fast”, they will always be there for each other, if necessary.
