“In the coming months, the Delta variant will become the dominant strain in the world, and it has already been identified in almost all European countries. It will continue to spread, supplanting the spread of other variants, unless a new, more competitive virus emerges,” the statement said.
Representatives of the organizations called for accelerating the pace of vaccination against coronavirus, since vaccinations allow the transmission of the infection in an easier form.
“The data clearly show that complete vaccination significantly reduces the risk of hospitalization and death,” said Hans Kluge, WHO European Director.
