A woman is torn between life and death after being run over at around 7:35 a.m. last night at kilometer 53.3 of the PR-140 highway, Florida jurisdiction.
According to the report of agent Milton Ramos Rivera, of the Arecibo Highway Patrols, the accident occurred when Yasline Vázquez Resto, 32, crossed the road without taking the proper precautions and was hit head-on by a gray Toyota Yaris from 2014 driven by Salomón Andújar Viruet, 80 years old.
Vázquez Resto was treated at the scene by paramedics Rafael and Mercado, from Municipal Medical Emergencies, and then taken to Doctors’ Center Hospital, in Manatí, where Dr. Morales reported that her condition is of care.
The driver underwent a breath test to detect alcohol in his body and it was negative, while Vázquez Resto will undergo a blood test.
The case was consulted with the prosecutor Ilia Reichard Morán, who ordered the confiscation of the vehicle as part of the investigation.
