Defense Ministry appoints 16 new Zodi commanders

The Ministry of Defense reported changes in 16 command posts of the country’s comprehensive defense operational zones (Zodi), while 12 were ratified in their positions.

Javier Marcano Tabata will go from the Zodi Miranda to the Capital and General Tito Urdaneta will replace him in the first.
In Zulia Manuel Castillo will take over, in Lara Enrique Arocha and in Falcón Edwars Centeno. Carlos Serrano was appointed to the Zodi Guárico, Alfredo González will assume in Cojedes, José Fleitas in Portuguesa and Eliezer Meléndez in Barinas.

In La Guaira General Ramón García will be in charge, in Aragua José González, in Delta Amacuro General Euclides Brito was appointed, in Anzóategui General Marco Tulio Alvarez takes over and in Sucre Pablo Bravo.
The commanders of the Zodi of Mérida, Apure, Táchira, Trujillo, Carabobo, Nueva Esparta, Aragua, Yaracuy, Bolívar, Amazonas and Monagas were ratified.

The commander of the Operational Zone for Comprehensive Maritime and Eastern Insular Defense Vice Admiral Jorge Tajan also remains in his position, while the Central, Atlantic and Western will be in charge of Rear Admirals Carlos Correa, Henry Gamarra and Alfonso Meléndez, respectively. l
