More than 26 million people suffer from heart failure. New evidence suggests that sleep problems may increase the risk of developing it.

In the study, scientists examined the relationship between sleep quality and heart failure. The scientific work includes data on 408 802 participants in the British biobank aged 37 to 73 years. For ten years of observation, specialists have registered 5,221 cases of heart failure.

Scientists analyzed the quality and overall sleep patterns. To determine the quality of sleep, experts took into account sleep duration, insomnia and snoring, and other sleep-related characteristics.
