The corona numbers continue to fall, but the number of new infections is declining less quickly. Between 12 and 18 November, an average of 4,166 people in our country became infected with the corona virus every day, a quarter less than in previous days. “You cannot expect 50 percent to go off every time, although we have to realize that the statistics remain incredibly high,” says virologist Marc Van Ranst. Biostatistician Geert Molenberghs agrees: “The epidemic can always restart.”
