Declaration of an oath. What does affidavit mean?

An affidavit (in the law referred to as an affidavit) is a special affirmation with which the person making this affirmation confirms that a certain declaration is true. Anyone who gives a false affirmation in lieu of an oath in front of an authority responsible for taking an affidavit or gives false statements by referring to such an affidavit will be punished with imprisonment for up to three years or with a fine (Section 156 of the Criminal Code).
