It is no big surprise that Sean Quinn can do an internship at Deceuninck-Quick Step.
The 20-year-old American was already at a training camp in Calpe in January and made an impression among the professional riders of Deceuninck-Quick Step.
Quinn finished 6th in the Giro for Under 23 last year and considers himself a classification rider. “I am strong in the mountains, but I am also good at time trial and on the flat,” said the American.
“I know from the training camp this winter how the team works. Although it will of course be completely different in the games themselves. I am really looking forward to it and will try to help the team where possible.”
On Wednesday, Quinn will make his debut in the Deceuninck-Quick Step shirt in the Tour of Piedmont.
By the way, Quinn rides as a promise for Hagens Berman Axeon, the American training team of Axel Merckx. He saw his riders Joao Almeida and Ian Garrison turn pro this season at Deceuninck-Quick Step.
