KV Mechelen defender Rocky Bushiri tested positive for the corona virus last week and would miss the match against KV Kortrijk. Replacement on duty: Siemen Voet, who would immediately make his first minutes in the KVM shirt.
And he did that with flying colors. Despite the defeat, Voet could still look back on a successful (personal) evening with a goal in his pocket. “There are a lot of emotions one after the other”, Voet says after the match.
“You start the game a bit more nervous as a young guest. You then put your trust in the game and the second half starts perfectly for me and I score. What we just couldn’t do in the first half, I could now.”
