KV Mechelen defender Rocky Bushiri tested positive for the corona virus last week and would miss the match against KV Kortrijk. Replacement on duty: Siemen Voet, who would immediately make his first minutes in the KVM shirt.
And he did that with flying colors. Despite the defeat, Voet could still look back on a successful (personal) evening with a goal in his pocket. “There are a lot of emotions one after the other”, Voet says after the match.
“You start the game a bit more nervous as a young guest. You then put your trust in the game and the second half starts perfectly for me and I score. What we just couldn’t do in the first half, I could now.”
“Then there are so many emotions, I score, I am so happy and proud and two minutes later there is the red card and you know that it will be difficult. You give it away and that was really painful. In the end there is almost. the 2-2, but it is the story of this season: not quite. “

“The goal was good for me, but we are not getting anywhere”, it still sounds on the website of KV Mechelen.
“When I heard this morning that I was probably going to start, I got an adrenaline rush. I am well integrated into the group and then you come on the field with confidence.”
“As a defender I like to work in training and I like to kick to goal. I’ve always been told that a scoring defender always has an advantage. That might be an advantage that I will have in the future.”
