Debit card helps coronavirus disappoints by a ‘detail’

  • The first coronavirus aid debit cards arrive
  • But taxpayers found a ‘detail’
  • Debit cards will reach about 4 million people

The first coronavirus aid debit cards have already started arriving, but some of the taxpayers they have been complaining about a ‘detail’.

And it is that according to statements to the channel WOWT, The government of President Donald Trump did not let taxpayers know that they would receive a debit card to receive aid for coronavirus, which caused much confusion.

The confession reached such a point that some taxpayers were even about to throw away the card debit, believing that it was a fraud.

The Omaha, Nebraska news channel spoke to taxpayers who received the new prepaid debit card with $ 1,200 in aid for the coronavirus, awarded by the Trump government.

They said the government did not let them know about it, which worries them.

Larry Dowden said he received a white envelope in the mail and found it a bit strange, so he thought it might be a scam.

“The first thing I thought was that we’ll cut it up and throw it away,” Dowden said.

But he didn’t, and inside the envelope he found his coronavirus relief money in the form of a prepaid debit card.

A receipt included in the envelope explained that the card was sent by the government instead of a paper check and contains your CARES money.

“I mean, it seemed legitimate but without warning about what they were going to do, it left me with a lot of questions,” he said.

“Even after they said it was okay, I still think it is a strange way of doing things,” added the Nebraska man.

People have the option of using debit cards or transferring the money to their bank account, as explained by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

On the other hand, Antonia Montana received her card last Tuesday.

He spent a day and a half on the phone trying to deposit the money into his bank account.

But by Thursday night, I still hadn’t seen him appear.

Montana said it would not have these problems if the government had sent him a check.

“It should have been clear, in advance, he told me that this is what he might get. And nothing, “she said.

Montana and Dowden said they expected more government transparency during a time when scam artists are in full swing.

“But it was all suspicious. And with all the mail fraud, it is very difficult to understand what is real and what is not, ”Montana said.

“There have been too many scams these days, so you just have to be careful,” Dowden said.

An example of why the IRS would not have direct deposit information is if you owe the government money in the past two years.

If you receive a card in the mail, there are instructions included on how to activate and use it.
