Manchester United encouraged to be more aggressive in the transfer market. A number of insignificant players were asked to be released in pursuit of Harry Kane.
That’s what the former captain said Manchester United Gary Neville, who feels the current team lacks a capable centre-forward. He believes United should try to bring in Harry Kane who really wants to leave Tottenham Hotspur.
Even though United have spent a lot of money this summer to bring in Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane. The two were recruited for a total cost of around £107 million.
But to chase the title, Neville estimates need to reach a minimum of 90 points. With the addition of Sancho and Varane alone, the target is considered still difficult to achieve.
Harry Kane itself is priced at 150 million pounds, according to reports circulating. Manchester United will compete with Manchester City if they are serious about pursuing the England national team striker.
Well, to fund the transfer, MU is advised to release a number of players, including Anthony Martial, Daniel James, and Jesse Lingard, or if necessary including Juan Mata.
“Why Martial, James, Lingard… we’re talking about the potential to take off a lot of the salary there, the potential to make money from transfers. Why aren’t they chasing Harry Kane this week?” Gary Neville told Sky Sports quoted Metro.
“Because I feel that Harry Kane enter Manchester United, you can get 90-95 points. Without it, it’s impossible. They still have to find a replacement for Cavani and Martial next summer.”
“Martial will not bring a winning team, Cavani only has a one-year contract. They will have to buy a centre-forward at some point.”
“Why not just sign him now and give Ole a push to get that 90-point target? I don’t think they will be able to make it happen with just Sancho and Varane,” he continued.
