At least five people were shot today at a car wash near the city of Nazareth in northern Israel, and two people were wounded in another similar attack nearby, DPA reported, BTA reported.
The attack in the Arab village of Jaffa was the deadliest of its kind since 2009, the Israeli news site “Winet” wrote. A burning car was also found nearby.
“I was shocked by the terrible killing near Nazareth. We are determined to stop this series of killings,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a post on Twitter. He said he would ask Israel’s domestic intelligence agency Shin Bet to help more in the fight against criminal groups.
In another similar case today, a three-year-old girl and a 30-year-old man were seriously injured in a shooting at a shop in the Arab village of Kafr Qana, which is also near Nazareth.
Nearly 100 Arabs in Israel have been killed in crime-related violence since the start of the year, DPA said. The Israeli police have been criticized for not taking decisive action to stop these attacks.
