DC Comics Cancels ‘Red Hood’ Series Following Writer’s Post on charlie Kirk‘s Death
WASHINGTON – DC Comics has canceled its “Red Hood” comic book series after writer Ethan Felker-Martin posted comments regarding the shooting death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, according to multiple reports.The cancellation impacts future issues planned through June 2026.
the decision comes after Felker-Martin’s social media post sparked widespread criticism and concerns about potential threats to political figures following Kirk’s recent shooting in Utah. DC’s move underscores the sensitivity surrounding political commentary and its intersection with entertainment properties, especially in a highly charged environment.
“Red Hood,” featuring the character Jason todd within the Batman universe, debuted on comic book store shelves this Wednesday. DC had initially announced plans for the series to run through next June, with a second volume scheduled through December 2026, as detailed in a press release. Though, those plans have now been scrapped.
