Davidová feels that she did her best at the Olympic Games, she was bothered by the criticism of the Czech team

Biathlete Markéta Davidová evaluated that she did her best at the Winter Olympics in Beijing, where she finished fourth and sixth. After arriving in Prague, she stated that she did not agree with the criticism of some domestic media, because she did not perceive the games as a shame or a failure from the Czech point of view.

David attacked the podium twice at the Changjia Highlands. In the endurance race, she lost gold after the last shot and finished sixth, finishing the final race with a mass start in fourth position, which she lamented.

“I was sorry for a while, but then when I evaluated it for myself, I think I really did my best. There are things that you can’t affect, such as your opponents’ performance. It was enough for places that were enough.” David said.

“Some races have succeeded, some have failed. As a result, I am satisfied with the two races, of course, I would like to repeat the sprint,” added the 25-year-old national team member, pointing to the discipline in which she finished 41st.

She also fought big frosts at the Olympics. “The winter was also exhausting because you had to dress terribly for meals and such. We dressed a lot, glued our faces and there was not much we could do about it. When it starts, the race is always over,” she said. David.

She did not take the Beijing Olympics, where the Czech team won two medals – Ester Ledecká’s gold in a parallel giant slalom on a snowboard and bronze by speed skater Martina Sáblíková on a five-kilometer track – as a failure.

“I definitely don’t think it’s a loser or a disgrace. Not in vain is good luck before every race, so holt luck was a bit lacking. But I really don’t like the way it is presented in the media,” said David.

After a short break, another biathlon event awaits her, the World Cup will continue in 14 days in Kontiolahti, Finland. “We have some rest and then the training starts. Next week we leave for the last trimester. The Olympics are over for us, but our season is definitely not over. We need to regenerate now, cope with the time lag and fight for three more weeks,” added the native Nisou.
