It was a nice place at Goedele Liekens’ home, her daughter Merel explains to HUMO. The sexologist asked and told openly to her offspring about the flowers and bees, something that the 22-year-old does not always appreciate. “I will not expand on my sex life soon,” says Merel. “Even though Mama is a sexologist. When we were watching an advertisement for Durex on TV, she thought it was a shocking moment to ask me if I could get over quickly and much. Sorry, I won’t answer that.”

Goedele itself is not always easy with it; she also found it difficult at first to talk about their sex life with her offspring. In an earlier interview with the Belgian Story, the Flemish indicated that there are many advantages to good sexual education. Young people would start sex later, have fewer bed partners and STDs, run less risk of sexual cross-border behavior and be happier in relationships.

The sexologist therefore finds it important to be able to talk about sex with her daughters. To get the conversation going, she sometimes e-mails an article about sex or sticks it on the fridge. Her girls don’t always like that; according to Goedele, they already turn their eyes as soon as they see the article hanging.
