The steering wheel of the El Salvador team, Darwin Cerén will continue one more season at the Houston Dynamo of Major League Soccer (MLS), in this way “The Orange” communicated it on its website where it has increased the contract of six other players apart from the national legionnaire.

“Houston exercised contract options for 2022 on midfielder Darwin Cerén, forward Griffin Dorsey, defender Sam Junqua, forward Nico Lemoine, forward Tyler Pasher, midfielder Marcelo Palomino and forward Fafa Picault,” said the Dynamo in his website.

Cerén will play a fifth season with Houston after joining this club in 2018 from the San José Earthquakes. Little by little he has become a fundamental piece of the Dynamo. In that campaign he made 24 games, then in 2019 he accumulated 13 matches, last year he made 20 and this season he finished with 25 goals.

So far, the Salvadoran midfielder has scored three goals, but has provided good assists for his team that failed to reach the MLS playoffs this season after finishing last of the Western Conference with 30 points and a balance of six wins, 12 draws and 16 losses.

With the Houston Dynamo, Cerén won the US Open Cup 2018 after defeating the Philadelphia Union 3-0 in the final, but since then his team has performed poorly, having finished in the last two seasons in the last and has not made it to the MLS playoffs since 2017, for which, they will seek to vindicate themselves in 2022.

This is the roster currently owned by the Houston Dynamo: Goalkeepers (1): Michael Nelson

Defensores (7):  Ethan Bartlow, Teenage Hadebe, Ian Hoffmann, Sam Junqua, Adam Lundkvist, Tim Parker, Zarek Valentin

Midfielders (8): Adalberto Carrasquilla, Juan Castilla, Darwin Cerén, Joe Corona, Derrick Jones, Marcelo Palomino, Memo Rodriguez, Matías Vera

Delanteros (8):  Corey Baird, Mateo Bajamich, Griffin Dorsey, Ariel Lassiter, Nico Lemoine, Tyler Pasher, Fafa Picault, Daniel Rios
