The highly anticipated crime drama “Dark Blue Gospel,” from the Criminal Excellence Foundation, will debut in Latvia this October, producer Cynthia Anderson announced to LETA.
Set in 1990s Riga, the film follows Roman Skulte, a newly appointed criminal police investigator who quickly learns that fighting crime requires bending the rules after his initial idealism clashes wiht reality.
Tickets for the premiere evening at Forum Cinemas are available now for Wednesday, October 8, with additional premiere screenings planned across Riga and Latvia.
To celebrate the premiere,the Criminal Excellence Fund will host events at select cinemas including The Cinema,Forum Cinemas,Apollo Kino,Cinamon,Kino Bize in Riga,as well as Kino Light in Valmiera,kino Cēsis,and Rio cinema in Ventspils.
Following its Latvian premiere, “Dark Blue gospel” will screen at the Tallinn Film Festival “Black Nights” as part of the Baltic Film Competition Programme, marking the start of its international festival run.
